Beautiful Series By Christina Lauren

As an ode to new adult fiction, I've decided to read the Beautiful Series by Christina Lauren.

After reading all three books, I could never decide which one is my favorite. Each love story are so well written that each book can stand on its own, even without the other part series.

The Beautiful Series revolve around 6 characters, 3 male and 3 females, who are somewhat connected to each other by family and friendship. There’s even a pairing, I think it’s the Beautiful Stranger book, that will make you think of “What a small world!”. Coincidence much? I think it’s too good to be a coincidence.

Like Fifty Shades of Grey, the men in the book series are as alpha male as they can get. The female characters are as successful as the male counterpart. Does this mean that successful men belong to successful women?

Like adult fiction, I don’t like how men in romance novel tend to be way older than the female character. I don’t think, if I was in the female character shoes, I would even look at older men. It would be way too creepy.

What I didn’t expect was how the men were portrayed in this book series. The books tell a story about how the men felt vulnerable when in love, showing their sensitive side. Usually, especially in adult fiction, the love story are always written in the female’s perspective. It's like the tables are turned. It's the men who are hurting in love while the female characters are still trying to figure it out.

The men in the Beautiful series are indeed painted to be beautiful specimen. They can pass up to be friends of Christian Grey. That’s how perfect each of the characters physique and achievement seem to be but without the personal issues of Christian Grey.

If you want to live in a fantasy world for just a few hours and to fall in love with beautiful men and women, get all of the Beautiful book series.

Thanks for reading!
